«À ma première lecture du livre, j’étais sans voix»From ECHO.lu rapporte Leonard Bernstein après avoir lu le long poème de Wystan Hugh Auden «The Age of Anxiety» (L’âge de l’angoisse). Le compositeur met alors fébrilement en musique le sujet écrit peu après la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Il en a tiré son éponyme Symphonie N° 2,. pour piano solo et orchestre, quête personnelle évoquant les repères et la foi face à de nombreuses situations de crise.
