In the face of relentless pressure from a village steeped in prejudice and anti-Semitism, Leiba, a Jewish innkeeper in 1890s Romania finds himself trapped in a suffocating web of fear and hate. As real danger and imagined fears start to blur together in his mind, Leiba slips down a dark and dangerous path with terrifying consequences.
