A cooking school for children and teenagers!

The Mawaka cooking school for children and teenagers opened in Gasperich in September 2022. Joëlle, a teacher by training and mother of two, wanted to create a truly one-of-a-kind place. She thus converted a bright, open space into a large fully equipped kitchen suitable for children of all ages – the perfect place to come together to create delicious dishes.

Here, children can learn how to cook safely, using fresh ingredients and experimenting with new flavours. By rolling their sleeves up and getting stuck in, children will develop independence and self-confidence, as well as improving their fine motor skills. They can explore all five senses and unleash their creativity while discovering new things.

Mawaka offers cooking classes for children from 3 to 15 years old, organises birthday parties, holiday activities and courses, and special events (including workshops themed around Saint Nicholas' day, Christmas and Easter, and even an evening for associated grown-ups), alongside a more educational programme for schools, nurseries etc. A small range of kitchen utensils (such as child-safe knives, aprons etc.) and accessories for children are available in the cooking school's little shop. The products are also available on Letzshop. The kitchen can also be hired out by businesses for private events.

Mawaka also creates baking boxes for children, including an original illustrated recipe, dry ingredients and some essential utensils. These boxes, which have proved extremely popular over the past two years, are also available from the shop.
