Re-opening of Oberweis

After several weeks of renovation work, the Oberweis shop located in Grand Rue Luxemburg City reopened on 7 November 2022.

In a friendly and refined setting with optimised lighting, focusing on patisseries and other sweet and savoury delicacies, a single counter now invites customers to make their choice. A new tasting room, which seats around 20 guests, complements the takeaway offer on the ground floor. In the background of this new room is a huge 10-metre fresco depicting the Grand-Rue at the beginning of the 20th century. The artist Akram Sultan has reconstructed the street in perspective by hand, using numerous postcards of the Grand-Rue from that period. As for the craftsmanship and artisanship, in addition to the baked goods and other delicacies of Oberweis, the mosaics in the shop have been preserved. They were laid according to old traditions by the Parisian mosaic artist Delphine Messmer and have all been restored. You can still enjoy the Café by Oberweis menu in the restaurant on the 1st floor.
