On October 1st, 2022, CHANEL inaugurates a new boutique in Luxembourg City. Ten years after the opening of its first boutique in Luxembourg City, in November 2012, CHANEL reasserts its presence with a replacement location on the prestigious Rue Philippe II. This new, more spacious environment will showcase all CHANEL’s latest creations by Artistic Director Virginie Viard in Ready-to-Wear, handbags and shoes, as well as small leather goods, costume jewelry and other accessories, Fragrances and an exclusive selection of CHANEL Watches & Fine Jewelry creations, including the iconic and timeless Première Edition Originale, J12, CODE COCO and Boy·Friend Watches, as well as the Coco Crush, N°5 and Camélia Fine Jewelry collections. For this project, the New York-based architect and long-time collaborator Peter Marino revisits House codes and its emblematic palette of black, white, and gold to present a fresh approach to CHANEL’s allure and timeless modernity. Heightening the warm and elegant atmosphere, bespoke furnishings in custom woven upholstery fabrics are dotted throughout the space, including white window panels with interrupted lines of moon-gold and black accents, plush wool carpeting, and hand-finished surface treatments. Spanning 350 square meters, this two-story boutique is decorated with specially commissioned works by artists including Mark Sheinkman, and Richard Caldicott, continuing the House’s ongoing support of the arts. Suspended in the stairwell are two centerpiece 18-foot sculptures by the German contemporary artist Gregor Hildebrandt made of cut vinyl records, fabric and steel cable. Once inside this luminous, welcoming boutique, the visitor is immersed directly into the world of CHANEL handbags, shoes and accessories, with two spacious salons presenting a selection of iconic and novelty handbags displayed in niches alongside an array of costume jewelry, eyewear, and small leather goods. A series of spaces presenting the CHANEL Watches and Fine Jewelry creations and the textile accessories flow seamlessly into one another, leading to an intimate shoe salon. The same spirit of sophistication extends to three inviting first-floor salons devoted entirely to Ready-to-Wear. Here, clients may peruse the latest collections in a welcoming, lounge-like ambiance furnished with sofas upholstered in signature tweed. A refined private salon adorned with a vintage brass sunburst wall sculpture by Curtis Jere offers clients a personalized service.
