The Grande Braderie programme

Unbelievable discounts

The Grande Braderie street market is the place to be at the start of the school year, and it is set to return to the streets of the capital on Monday, 30 August 2021 from 9:00 to 19:00.

It's a chance to meet back up after the holidays, compare tans, have a chat and unearth stylish pieces for a fraction of the usual price! That's right, you're sure to find a bargain!

Not free on Monday 30? Don't worry! A little birdie told us that the Braderie special offers will start as early as Saturday 28 and Sunday 29.

Come and discover the all-new shops and eateries that have recently been set up in the Gare and Centre districts. And this year, even the less athletic among us have no excuse; the tram will now take you from one end of the city to the other – it's worth it just for the crossing over Pont Adolphe.

We've got everything covered, for both adults and kids. The entertainment you'll find scattered around the city has something for everyone in the family.

And the post-holiday detox can wait; our mouths are already watering at the thought of a huuuuge waffle with Chantilly cream.

The check-list for the big day

  • Slip on your favourite trainers and make your daily step count skyrocket
  • Bring your straw bag from your holidays and fill it with all the pretty things you find
  • Don't forget your sunglasses. You never know, our country might just see extraordinarily high levels of sunshine on 30 August (but pack an umbrella too, just in case)

Entertainment for all ages

At the Braderie, the whole family can come and enjoy themselves.

  • For the little ones, head to Rue Origer in the Gare district, where you can find ride-on ponies that are so cute you'd almost believe they were real
  • Come and unwind after your shopping session with some table football or table tennis on Place de Paris, Rue Origer (Gare district) and Place d'Armes (in Ville Haute)
  • Discover AéroYoga via a live performance on Place de Paris (3pm, 5pm, 6pm).
  • Try to win a Ps5 at Saturn!
  • On the Saturday and Sunday, come and listen to the Luxembourg band Saxitude in the Gare district and dance to the beat of tunes you know and love

Our foodie picks

The Braderie is not complete without some tasty treats, so here are a few recommendations.

  • Le Café de Paris for a new, trendy concept
  • Boucherie Goedert for its traditional Mettwurst
  • Kaempff Kohler for little delicacies
  • Fischer for its incredibly yummy pastries
  • D'humeur végétale (across from Galeries Lafayette) for fresh juice and kombucha

The Gare district:

  • Emo and Casa Do Brill for traditional sausages
  • Little Asia for a culinary journey across Asia
  • Confiserie Nono for nougat, sweets and other treats
  • Bargello for its delicious Italian gelato

Our tips for getting to the city

  • Free public transport

The simplest way to get here from anywhere in the country is by public transport, it's free so it's super easy!

  • Free parking

Take advantage of the city's free parking.

  • Tram

To travel from one end of the city to the other, we recommend taking the tram.

  • Bike

The extension of some of the city's bike paths this summer has made cycling around even more enjoyable.

  • Train

Taking the train from Belgium, France or Germany couldn't be easier! The Gare district Braderie is only a two-minute walk away from Gare Centrale train station.
